Variable Speed of Light
I've recently learned that Einstein was considering the possibility of the speed of light being variable under certain conditions. The scientific community certainly accepts that the speed of time is variable, depending on proximity to gravity or the velocity of a body in motion. I came across this for a variety of reasons: is redshift a product of distance or time or energy loss or anything else that hasn't occurred to us?
